Science at Pongaroa

Room 1 and 2 have science lessons on alternate weeks.
For term 2 this year our learning is all based around milk.  The children were encouraged to come up with questions that they would like to investigate based around this topic.  Every lesson we focus on one or two of those questions and experiment and observe to try and find the answers.

Room 1 made observations of 'dancing milk'

‘I see maori designs and snakes changing’ – Robbie

‘I see a snake and it turned fat’ – Cody E

‘I see red and blue mixing together to make a pink butterfly’ – Kaitlin

‘I see a flower swirling around’ – Heidi

Room 1 students answered the question how do we get the milk out of cows? and practiced their milking skills.
